The Body In Motion: Your Skeleton Doing Yoga

Home/yoga/The Body In Motion: Your Skeleton Doing Yoga

The body in motion doing yoga is a beautiful thing.  But a SKELETON doing yoga?  It might not be a sight you see every day, but watching this video of a skeleton going through yoga moves is pretty cool. It gives you a better perspective of what is actually going on in your body while stretching and making yoga poses.

You might actually call this video “X-RAY-ted” because it depicts what the human body looks like doing yoga in X-ray form. The animators strived to make the video as scientifically accurate as possible, working with medical experts to create a 3D visual study of the human skeleton.

The animators had all sorts of challenges (like representing bone densities and bone marrow) but check out the amazing results of their hard work:

Hybridmedicalanimations.com stated the animators’ goal was to create a realistic representation of radiological (x-ray) imaging. Instead of just creating a still image, they wanted to combine the beautiful moves of yoga with this new visual exploration to bring the full human skeleton to life.

Can’t you just get a sense of your own body as you watch this video and want to give it the proper care?  Yoga has amazing benefits to the body and even the mind.  If you’re meditating while doing yoga, you are actually lengthening telomeres at the end of your body, keeping you youthful.
