In my opinion, ceramides are the absolute gold standard and must-have ingredient for dry skin ! Ceramides are one of THE most effective types of moisturizers, acting to increase hydration levels and replace naturally-occurring lipids in the skin. I adore the ceramide products from Elizabeth Arden, and in fact remember their ceramide capsules when they used to be called Ceramide Time Complex Capsules back in the ’90’s. IN FACT, this was the product that got me GA GA about skincare. Now Lizzy calls them Ceramide Capsules Daily Youth Restoring Serum and they come in cool gold capsules instead of the light pink.
If you have dry, tight or sensitive skin, this product will deliver immediate relief. The capsules contain Ceramides 1 and 6. Ceramid 1 is great for hydration AND firming and Ceramide 6 is a gentle ceramide hydroxy acid, which is a natural exfoliator.
You twist open a capsule and out comes a suuuuuper silky, lightweight oil serum. Give it a minute and your skin drinks it in. You’ll love the feel of your skin after application.
The capsules are ultra convenient for traveling – I usually don’t even use a whole capsule on my face so the jar lasts me longer than 60 days. (The price is around $76.00 for 60 capsules.) One of my favorite things to do is cleanse my face, exfoliate then let my skin drink up the ceramide capsule! Luxurious!
If you are looking for a moisture magnet, a ceramide product will do the trick. Look for all these ceramide products from Elizabeth Arden. They now have a lift and firm ceramide day cream with SPF that I am dying to try!
Ceramides for Healthy Hair
Dry hair? Ceramides can also benefit hair. Ceramides are in the Miracle Anti-Aging Conditioner and Extreme Conditioner available in my shop. Here’s the description from the ingredient list:
Ceramide: A type of lipid which is a natural component of the hair cuticle. Improves the scale of the hair cuticle and restores the natural properties of the hair. Produces immediate improvement in the strength and appearance of the hair. Reduces the friction coefficient of hair. By reducing the friction coefficient, ceramides reduce hair damage caused by abrasion and daily weathering.
