REVIEW: Get Hip with Mad Hippie’s All-Natural Vitamin C Serum

Home/Anti-aging, Mad Hippie, Vitamin C serum/REVIEW: Get Hip with Mad Hippie’s All-Natural Vitamin C Serum

I’m pretty old-school, so when it comes to vitamin C serums, I remember my first experience was paying what I thought was an extraordinary amount of money back then  (over $90) for a popular brand that was, well…very “serious” and “clinical.”  It was dark in color and didn’t smell pleasant either!

A Vitamin C serum can be one of the best things you put on your skin for increased collagen and reducing the appearance of lines – it can even help with spots and sun damage – so it shouldn’t feel like a CHORE.  Fast forward to this decade and I am stoked to try Mad Hippie Vitamin C serum with Konjac Root, Ferulic and Hyaluronic Acid.

I like how the name “Mad Hippie” conjurs up images of  a light-and-breezy Bohemian Mother Nature dancing around in her herbal kitchen mixing up natural anti-oxidants and active ingredients with bunches of rad love while sticking it to the corporate fat cats who put chemicals or fake dyes in their products for profit.  This line contains ZERO harmful chems, parabens, dyes or colorants and has lots of harmonious good stuff like Bioactive Vitamins, Peptides, Alpha Hydroxy Acids, Apple Stems Cells, and antioxidants, all which combine forces to provide a natural solution for aging skin.

The color is light, the smell is uplifting and it absorbs quickly.  It’s hard to see in the above photo (also hard taking a photo with one hand of your other hand), but look in the middle of the back of my hand – it’s not too drippy and has a nice serum consistency.  There’s nothing clinical about the smell and Mad Hippie Vitamin C serum is gentle — I’ve read several reviews from people who say this is the one Vitamin C serum they can use that won’t cause breakouts or rashes.

The price tag will make you the OPPOSITE of mad at UNDER $44.00.

Brighten, Tighten & Smooth the Skin, While Reducing the Effects of Photoaging with Mad Hippie Vitamin C.

Ingredient Highlights:

Vitamin C  (STAY-C® 50) –  Few ingredients in skin care have as much solid evidence as to their effectiveness as Vitamin C.   A vital element in the production of collagen, vitamin C can help reduce the appearance of wrinkles & discoloration, while offering photoaging protection through it’s antioxidant activity.   *wear sunscreen daily.

Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate (STAY-C® 50), a more stable and bioavailable form of Vitamin C than the commonly used L-Ascorbic Acid found in most skin care products, provides the same benefits, without the risk of oxidation and irritation that is often associated with L-Ascorbic Acid.

Ferulic Acid – A natural  antioxidant found in the cell walls of plants.  When combined with vitamins C & E, Ferulic Acid has been shown to reduce UV generated skin damage by 8 fold – Read Study

Vitamin E – Potent natural antioxidant that has been found to have a compounding antioxidant / photoaging effect when used in conjunction with Vitamin C.

Hyaluronic Acid –  Works to plump up the skin and reduce the appearance of wrinkles.  A naturally occurring substance in the body, hyaluronic acid begins to deplete as we age.

Konjac Root Powder – Exotic flower from Asia, helps to soften & smooth the skin while forming a thin protective barrier.  Rich in nutrients such as copper, zinc, phosphorus, fatty acids, protein, carbohydrates, lipids, potassium, magnesium, iron, niacin, folic acid & vitamins A, E, C, D & B!

Grapefruit – Rich in antioxidants & citric acid, grapefruit helps to remove dead skin cells, acting as a natural exfoliant.

Chamomile Extract – Provides a thin protective shield, while naturally soothing and calming the skin.

Clary Sage – Balances the production of sebum, and helps eliminate overly-dry or overly-oily skin.  Acts as natural toner & astringent with antibacterial & antiseptic qualities.

If you are looking for a new C, this is the one to try — they even print their packaging with soy inks and with 100% wind energy.  And they have more in their line like eye serums, cleansers – all which I am eager to try.

Buy here with the Vitamin C serum on sale, or buy direct from their website, where you can buy a bundle and save.
