REVIEW: RODAN AND FIELDS REDEFINE MACRO EXFOLIATOR

RODAN AND FIELDS MACRO EXFOLIATOR REVIEW

This product was featured in my article “TOP 3 BREAKTHROUGH ANTI-AGING SOLUTIONS OF 2013.”  And for good reason.

This bad boy is a hand-held macro exfoliator device used to sweep away dead skin cells. Before and after photos show that if you stick with this at-home treatment, you can get results that equal a laser treatment (Just Google “Rodan and Fields Macro Exfoliator Before and After” and you get tons of blogger photos that show results after one use.)
The on board computer allows you to select your settings, so that the diamond head on this device that dermatologists use in their practices for micro-dermabrasion treatments can suck away the top layer dead cells.  It cycles through:

CHEEKS        1 Minute
NOSE             30 seconds
CHIN              30 seconds
FOREHEAD   30 seconds
EYE AREA     30 seconds
NECK             1 Minute
CHEST           1 Minute

And it’s all pre-timed out for you – the machine stops when your time for that section of your face and chest is complete.
SEEING IS BELIEVING. The proof is in the filter where you can see the dulling, dead outermost skin cells and debris that have been covering up your best skin. That’s 5 minutes every week, resulting in 5 MILLION DEAD SKIN CELLS.
The Rodan and Fields Redefine Macro Exfoliator uses patent-pending DOC-SMART™ technology, developed and programmed by Dr. Katie Rodan and Dr. Kathy Fields, to vary the degree and duration of macro-exfoliation based on facial area. They say the REDEFINE MACRO Exfoliator is clinically proven to visibly improve skin texture after only one use.

The device comes with COOLING GELS to apply to your face after use. Cooling gel ingredients are:

Water, Butylene Glycol, Cupric (II) Nitrate, Tetrapeptide-16, Tranexamic Acid, Carbomer, Phenoxyethanol, Sodium Hydroxide, Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate, and Honey Extract.

Wait, there’s MORE? Yes, anyone with a smart phone can download the app to REMIND YOU it’s time for a treatment.  It’s available via Iphone or iTunes and is completely FREE.  You can even take a pic of the QR Code on the back of the box and it will take you to the app to download.  The app not only gives you reminders, but you can upload photos and you get rewarded with status like “Time Traveler” after so many uses and uploads.

Rodan and Fields Macro Exfoliator Review

I love the CONCEPT of doing this at home!  I’m hoping  that R&F can come out with a slimmer version in the future.  This one is on the bulky side to hold and navigate over your face.  In all honestly, I DID end up with some black and blue marks on my face (ala hicky style) – I think if you are a newbie, this is bound to happen once or twice until you get the hang of it.
It DOES work — I’ve done it and SEEN the skin flakes in the filter.  A LOT of skin flakes in the filter.  Make sure your skin is dry before you use this so your tip can stay abrasive.  And this device is not for the lazy – you simply MUST clean out the dead skin and brush the tip of this machine.  You don’t HAVE to use the cooling gels afterwards, but they feel oh so nice.  You should not OVERUSE this product and please do not apply anything with glycolic acid or alpha hydroxy acid on after you use this device.  Thank me later.
The Rodan and Fields Redefine Macro Exfoliator costs $279 and is available through www.rodanandfields.com, or from one of their independent reps.  I do not sell this line, but I know a few reps, so if you need one, holler.
