Kim Kardashian Vampire Facial: It’s HALLOWEEN: a night full of ghosts and goblins is upon us.

My own fave of the creatures that go bump in the  night is the vampire – those immortal creatures that suck your blood and make you “one of THEM.”   When I was much much younger, Dracula spooked me so hard, I even slept with a bunch of garlic under my pillow just to ward him off.

Sure, vampires are all the rage due to TV Shows and movies.  But NOW, vampires  have a spooky anti-wrinkle treatment named after them and Kim Kardanshian has tried it.

(Sorry Frankenstein.)  It’s Vampire Therapy time!

Fear not!  It doesn’t involve someone driving a stake through your heart – although THAT would certainly stop your wrinkles for sure.  BUT, it DOES involve B L O O D.

Vampire Therapy is also called Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy or PRP.  Some call it Blood Therapy, Vampire Facelift, Regen™, Sephyl™, and Vampire Skin Therapy.

Your doctor really does take a small amount of blood from you (hopefully not from your neck) and then the blood is enriched to increase the concentration of platelets.  He or she then prepares a platelet rich fibrin injectable gel.  The injections stimulate collagen production and cell migration to eliminate your lines.

I’m told results can last up to two years, and look natural.  Two years isn’t forever, but it’s pretty damn amazing!

The platelets are key here because they contain bioactive proteins and growth factors that help accelerate tissue repair and regeneration, and activate stem cells.   Hmmm, maybe blood is the secret that makes all those vampires look so good!

Rejuvalife Vitality Institute in Beverly Hills has been offering Vampire Therapy treatments since its FDA clearance.

Their website lists some of the advantages of Vampire Therapy:

* Vampire therapy uses your own natural resources so there is no risk of allergic reaction
* Collagen production is stimulated over 2-3 weeks to naturally reduce or eliminate lines, folds & wrinkles
* Vampire therapy is ideal for those dislike synthetic products
* There is little or no swelling, bruising or lumping
* Vampire therapy can be used to treat any body area without side effects
* Both men & women benefit & experience a more youthful look

No side effects!  That means no turning into a blood sucking night villain.  And that’s a plus.
Here’s a look at how it’s done (from a KTLA Special Report).

Would YOU inject your own blood into your face to look younger?  Leave a comment!
