Of course, the staples of anti-aging include a good diet and exercise. But there is much more involved to optimal aging and growing old with grace and ease. Here are ten habits of aging gracefully:
1- LET GO
Got your own preconceived notions about what a person at your age should look like? How a person your age should dress? Or what kind of activities a person your age should take part in? If you read magazines or watch TV, you more than likely do. When you set those notions free, you can be a peace. Aging gracefully includes letting go and accept YOU for who you are, no matter your age, even if you are breaking the mold of society’s expectations.
2- LET IT BE
In your forties and STILL comparing yourself to 20 year olds? You’ll get more wrinkles that way than you think. It’s when you moved on and realized you’re in a better category than 20, when you start valuing your smarts and talents and life experience over your outer beauty that a better world opens up for you.
3- VALUE YOUR LIFE FORCE
At any stage of life, it’s important to surround yourself with supportive, non-drama people who don’t drain your energy. Sometimes, surrounding yourself with low-vibrational people can actually weigh you down so you feel and look older! Keep your life force in tact and cut ties with anyone who is weighing you down.
4- FORGIVE
Don’t hold grudges. It’s better for your health and mental state if you forgive those who’ve done you wrong. Saying a Hawaiian Ho’o’ponopono prayer can be a powerful avenue to melt away anger and bring forgiveness into your life. It goes like this:
I love you.
I am sorry.
Please forgive me.
Thank you.
5- SAY NO TO REGRETS
Don’t think “if I only did this instead of this.” You can’t undo what is done. Accept it, move on and forge forward by doing something you’ve always wanted to do.
6- RELAX AND REWARD
Cut yourself some slack and stop being so self-critical. RELAX! Some people have turned to CBD oil to help them relax. (Here’s an article link to best CBD oil here.) Be kind to yourself and reward yourself for achieving your goals.
7- ENJOY
What did you allow yourself to completely enjoy today? A great meal? A walk in nature? A deep soul kiss with your soulmate? A warm bath? Remember to indulge often and regularly in things you love.
8- FIND YOUR PURPOSE
Research shows that having a purpose actually improves longevity. If you have an idea of what you’re living for, chances are you will live longer.
9- PRACTICE GRATITUDE FOR AGING GRACEFULLY
Making gratitude a daily habit can do wonders for your mood and even your health and is a huge component when it comes to aging gracefully. The more grateful and appreciative you are, you’ll see the more full of life you become.
10- DO WHAT YOU LOVE
Following your heart and finding your passion will help you have an inner peace and glow so that you shine and influence others to do the same. Share the joy!
